Vancouver Tamim Academy Welcomes Our New Director of Education – Laen Avraham Dov Hershler

We are excited to announce that Laen Avraham Dov Hershler will be joining Vancouver Tamim Academy as our Director of Education. Laen brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership, curriculum innovation, and teacher mentorship, making him an invaluable addition to our growing school community.

Laen is currently a Teaching Associate and Mentor for Preservice Teachers at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he plays a key role in shaping the next generation of educators. His work focuses on language and literacy education, creative pedagogy, and inclusive teaching methods. In addition, he is a PhD candidate in Language and Literacy Education at UBC, further deepening his expertise in educational research and instructional best practices.

With experience in both general and Judaic studies, Laen has previously served as a Judaic educator at King David High School, developed interactive and performance-based learning programs, and contributed to curriculum development across K-12 and post-secondary education. His leadership in inclusive and creative education aligns perfectly with Tamim Academy’s mission to cultivate a nurturing, dynamic, and values-driven learning environment.

Under Laen’s leadership, Vancouver Tamim Academy is poised to expand its academic vision, strengthen teacher development, and enhance student learning experiences. We are thrilled to welcome him to our school and look forward to the inspiration and excellence he will bring.
